One of my favorite shows is Roswell, which sadly, only lasted for three seasons. It's about these teenaged aliens that have to live in secret in Roswell, New Mexico. Obsidian sort of reminded me of that show, except Daemon was nothing like the sweet and shy Max. Instead, he's wisecracking and smart-mouthed and can't help but trade insults with Katy. He's constantly calling her Kitten--much to Katy's frustration--and poking her with his pen in class just to get a rise out of her. The friction between their personalities was very much like Much Ado About Nothing's Beatrice and Benedick, and the chemistry was undeniable.
This was the first of Armentrout's novels that I've read, and I was not disappointed. I'm not sure why it took me so long to pick up one of her books. After finishing this book, I can assure you that this is not the last of hers I'll read.
